There are many book clubs. This group reads literary classics...books that have stood the test of time. So we'll never read the hot new thing...we'll read books that are 10-10,000 years old but are still in print. We'll read Homer, Dante, Salinger, Faulkner, Flannery O'Connor, John Kennedy Toole, Alice Walker, Shakespeare. Great authors, great books. We'll read fiction, poetry, drama, folk tales, philosophy. We'll discuss what we read over wine or coffee. Sound fun?
This is a book club I created after I left my beloved Pittsburgh Chick Lit Book club and moved to the great South! Listen up Fashionistas! If you love chick lit novels with a strong female protagonist, including chick lit, mommy lit and bride lit, this is the book club for you. New York or London- our girl characters take charge, get promoted and find love, all in 300 pages or less. Let's chat and swap our favorite titles on the last Monday of each month!
This book club began in 2007 in response to a gap in book clubs in the West side of the Triangle. Since then, many book clubs have emerged (on meetup, and elsewhere). We're still around, and I guess that means something is working. We alternate locations (between Chapel Hill and Durham), and for the most part, meet the last Tuesday of the month. Our four organizers all love this book club, and participate often. We're always looking for new members and fresh ideas in discussion. What can you exp …

Dystopian futures, first loves and boarding schools - you can't go wrong. If you loved the Hunger Games, Princess Diaries, Sweet Valley Confidential, and all those other books that you want to put a paper bag book-cover on so nobody sees what you're reading, then you've found the right place! Bonus points …

So many great conservative books and ideas, so little time to read. A bookclub deadline is a great motivator to actually crack open that book you've been meaning to read! Join fellow conservatives to discuss the latest book, column or happening. If you like Andrew Breitbart, Mark Steyn, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Melanie Phillips, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Mark Levin, Michelle Malkin, Elliott Abrams, the National Review or Weekly Standard, then this is the Meetup for you!
This is a group for anyone who enjoys reading or writing long-form or book-length works of nonfiction. Most people don't know what to expect from joining a coven. Very few books are written about coven dynamics or what life is like once you've made the decision to give up the solitary path and seek out a more formal education in a magickal tradition. Many people feel that a coven is a place to go to avoid celebrating the seasons, sabbats, esbats alone. They think that joining a coven is about being friends and having a good time with other like-minded people. All those are part of being a cove …
