Let's eat and drink at great venues, meet new friends who live nearby and enrich our minds at the same time! This group has a local focus and is designed for people living in the vicinity of Hampton Court/Teddington. We'll read one book a month and then meet up at a regular time to discuss it. We'll meet at an interesting, new local restaurant, pub or café, or at people's homes if they're willing to make it festive with a few snacks and drinks! Book selection will rotate among the members, and …

I love to read and am sure I can come up with a read, we could meet fortnightly, we would need to find a quiet pub somewhere we could go and discuss the book... If your interested great let me know or join up. Depending on numbers we could do a 1 pound per meeting, obviously there is a book cost involved but am sure we could source cheaply from somewhere..
Welcome to Chichester Readers; a group of people who love books. The general idea is to meet every month or so, all having read the same book and to have a bit of a natter over a glass or two of wine. Marvellous. So far we have read: 1) Julia Stuart's 'The Matchmaker of Perigord' 2) 'The Memory Keeper's Daughter' by Kim Edwards 3) 'The White Tiger' by Aravind Adiga 4) 'Boiling a Frog' by Christopher Brookmyre 5) 'Night Train to Lisbon' by Pascal Mercier 6) 'The Irresistible Inheritan …

There are few book groups in the area but they seem to be quite spiritual and intellectual. This club is a chance for like minded people to meet and discuss any topic of book we like. Every month, the group will decide on which book to read and we will meet once a month to discuss what we thought.
Although called Caversham Critics, this book group is open to all friendly Reading based fiction lovers. We shall explore old and modern classics, contemporary fiction, and perhaps even pretend to be judges by comparing our notes on the shortlists for the big literary prizes. We aim to meet monthly in a pub in central Reading. We are just getting started, so if the club sounds like your cup of tea, don't hesitate, join and spread the word!
A monthly bookclub for people in the Redhill & Reigate area. The plan is to meet on the third Tuesday of the month, at the Garland pub in Redhill. I'll be asking for a small £2 donation per meeting just to contribute towards the Meetup admin fees.
We recently moved to Maidenhead and I miss my old book group. Ironically now I have a longer commute I have more time to actually read! If you would like to join an evening book group which would encourage you to read something you might otherwise not have picked up, but which isn't too high-brow, then please get in touch. I am female, middle aged (ahem) with a young family but obviously you don't have to be the same, it just gives you an idea !

The heart of this project is a focus on the importance of fairy tales as a creative force both in literature and culture. Literary fairy tales can be seen, in terms of genre, to mediate between, on the one hand, folktales, from which they often derive both form and content; and on the other, the more elaborate narratives of full-blown fantasy novels. The Centre will provide a forum where writers and scholars from various disciplines can discuss folk narratives, fairy tales and fantasy works, bot …

Been having a wander around this site and noticed that living in Esher, there are not many groups around the area for people who just want to have a kick around. So with that in mind I thought I would put some feelers out to see how many gents or ladies of any ability or age would be interested in joining a group to meet new people and play a game of non-aggressive footy and just plain and simply have a laugh. The games will be played around the Esher, Walton, Surbiton, Cobham areas, although I …

Join us and meet others who are interested in sharing all things social and cultural. The idea is to meet socially with other like-minded folk in a range of different venues in and around Windsor conducive to relaxed convers …
